Missions Statement
We, at the Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church believe in the Great Commission as given by our Lord and Savior in Matthew 28:19-20,"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."We believe that it is the responsibility of every believer in Christ to witness to the lost and win them to Christ Jesus. We do this by showing the Love of Jesus in Word and Deed, seeking to lead them to Christ Jesus by his example.
In Jesus' Commission he lists several things that we must do:
- (1) Go ye therefore. We must go where the unsaved are. We will never reach them by staying shut up inside of the four church walls. We must go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- (2) Teach all Nations. We must teach and make disciples of all nations. God Loves everyone and is not a respecter of any person. We must be the same. We must reach all tongues, all races, and all nationalities with the message of Salvation in and through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
- (3) Baptizing them....Once we've won the lost to Christ we must impress upon them the importance of obedience to the Lord. The first act of obedience is being baptized into a local body of Christ. Although water baptism doesn't save an individual, it is an important act of obedience to the new convert in Christ.
- (4) Teaching them to observe. Once the lost has been won to Christ, we must teach them the ways of Christ. We must show them what Jesus expects from them, and how he wants them to live their lives. He wants all of his children to be prosperous, not in houses, land and wealth, but prosperous in the service of Jesus.
This, we believe, is the Mission and the Heartbeat of of the church. In doing so we not only obey the Lord and glorify him, but also help our fellowman, by showing them the best way to live.
