Matthew 16:25-26 (KJV)
For whosoever will save his life shall not lose it: and whosoever lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

The world is full of people who make it a priority to gain the whole world. To them what is most important is recognition: prestige and power. To be able to control their destiny and the destiny of others gives them a sense of accomplishment. But is this what life is all about?

In this passage of scripture Jesus tells his disciples that to gain the world; to accumulate wealth, prestige and power, without honoring and obeying God, would result in losing ones soul. Why, because mankind was created to worship and serve God. Gaining the world, as described by Jesus in this passage of scripture, details moving forward without God. Accumulating wealth, prestige and power, while snubbing and rejecting Jesus, the source of all life.

Are you trying to gain the world? Trying to have power and wealth while ignoring the God who gives you life and keeps you day by day. Jesus, my friends, tells us it's not worth it! What is a man profited or benefited if he gains the whole world; gets every thing he or she desires in life, only to lose his or her soul at the end of life? But if you make Jesus Lord of your life, lose your life or give control of your life to him, you will save it. Having Jesus in your life as Lord and Savior is worth more than the world could ever provide.

God Bless You
